FOIA Requests

Greenwood Township complies with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/). The Act gives the public the right to access government documents and records.

How to submit a request

FOIA requests should be submitted in writing to the Township FOIA Officer. Please include your full name, mailing address, phone number, and a clear description of the records you'd like to inspect or receive copies of.

Indicate whether you'd like to inspect the records at our office or receive copies, and whether your request is for a commercial purpose.

Response time

Non-commercial requests are generally responded to within five (5) business days of receipt. The response period may be extended by an additional five business days as permitted under the Act. Commercial requests are responded to within 21 business days.

Fees

There is no fee for the first 50 pages of black-and-white, letter or legal sized copies. Additional pages are charged at the actual cost of reproduction as allowed by the Act. Electronic copies provided via email are free of charge.
